El tema del chal español sigue estando de plena actualidad y continúa siendo fuente de inspiración para los artistas contemporáneos, como ocurre con la obra que aquí os presento.
Esta sensual y magnífica pintura pertenece a la joven artista californiana Jo Ann Peralta. Titulada Spanish Shawl, se dio a conocer originalmente en 2012 en el Masters of the American West Exhibition and Sale en el Autry National Center . Fue adquirida inmediatamente por la prestigiosa galería Greenwich Workshop, tras obtener innumerables elogios.
La pintura de Peralta está influida por las raíces españolas de sus abuelos y pintores como Joaquín Sorolla.
